I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
